Dear Home Exchange guests, this document has been written for making you aware about our home peculiarities, so that you can understand if it fits to you. The first thing to know is that the building in divided into 2 parts, the one where you're going to stay, our primary home, of about 240 sqm, excluding the garage and the secondary home that is usually rented through Booking.com. There might be paying guests in the apartment, feel free to explain them how Home Exchange works, in case you'd meet someone ;-) It is allowed to smoke in the garden, while it’s not inside, not even e-cigarettes. We've 2 cats, Neve and Nuvola, they sleep in the garage in the night and they have to stay in garden during the day. If you're not going to take care of them, we'll ask our cleaning woman to come for feeding and cleaning. The stove in the kitchen works with natural gas, please ask for info if you're not familiar with this kind of things. Separate waste collection: - wet-organic and dry-undifferentiated are under the sink in the kitchen. When full, please take them on the right-back side of the gate; wet-organic goes into the smaller bin "umido", the dry-undifferentiated into the yellow bin "secco" - plastic, glass and paper should be also placed on the right-back side of the gate, please put the glass into the bin without lid. Waste collection calendar is in the kitchen. ​For safety reasons, there are 6 cameras on the outside of the house, they're on 24h. The alarm system can be activated for detecting intrusions, just ask if you're interested on having the code. You can take food and beverages in the fridge, just replace it in case it runs out. Please be careful when opening the fridge, to avoid collisions with the sliding microwave door. You can use the fireplace for grilling food, please keep the tavern door closed while in use, to avoid smoke going upstairs. You can use the washing and the drying machine, please make sure the laundry room door is always firmly closed, so that our cats cannot go inside. High speed wifi is available for you, password will be provided. In case of electrical blackout, the main electrical switch is into the garage, close to the white door, you'll find there the switches that probably need to be energized. In the worst case, you might need to go outside of the gate, on the right, for restoring the main power switch, the key for its panel are downstairs, before the white garage door, labeled as "contatore Enel". The gate opens with the button on the remote control, just press it once and then it closes itself. When entering, do not stand in front of the photocells. Heating and cooling systems are controlled by thermostats, some thermostats are manual, some are programmable, further info will follow in case of need. Please be so kind to turn it off or at least to adjust temperature when leaving the house. Please open the windows sometimes, to let outside air flow in, to prevent mildew; in the kitchen, please turn on the extractor hood above the stove when you boil water in the pot. All windows are equipped with mosquitos nets, please remove insects, if any, before rolling them up. The bathtube and the bidet in main bathroom (the pink one) are not working, sorry. We'll fix them, soon or late. Cooling system starts in a few seconds, heating system takes 5-10 minutes before starting. For energy saving reasons, please try to use home appliances in the daylight, for maximizing the efficiency of solar panels on the roof. In case of damages we'd appreciate you to inform us immediately, for our awareness and for giving instructions about how to fix. Thank you for reaching the end of this long document!
